Why do we baptize? Simply put: We need it. The Bible is very clear about the sin we have all inherited. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

As a spectator, baptism may look like a ritual involving water and some spoken words. It is true that a proper baptism does involve the application of water and speaking Jesus' words, "In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." (Matthew 28:19-20) But what happens in baptism is beyond a ritual.

To help your processing, here are some things for you to reflect on after watching the Baptism video. Contact the Site Pastor of your Trinity Site, your Small Group Leader, your Discipler, or your Coach to pursue further conversation.

  • How have you seen God's "arrow" reach toward you in your life?

  • If you have not yet received the gift of baptism, what is holding you back?

  • Describe the current and constant nature and experience of your baptism as you journey to be more like Jesus.
